Pet Care
Learn to take care of
your pet!
01
Feed them
right
Make sure you're giving your pet the right food for their age, size, and breed. Always check portion sizes and go easy on the treats—too many can lead to health issues. Fresh water is a must, so keep their bowl full!
02
Keep them
fresh and clean
Regular grooming keeps your pet happy and healthy. Brush their fur, trim their nails, and give them baths when needed. Don’t forget to check their ears and teeth too—these little steps can prevent big problems later.
03
Learn their
language
Pets communicate in their own ways. Pay attention to their body language and behavior. Are they hiding, acting restless, or being extra clingy? Understanding these signs can help you meet their needs and build a stronger bond.
04
Make playtime fun
Pets need both physical and mental exercise. Take dogs for daily walks, play fetch, or use puzzle toys. Cats love chasing laser lights or climbing towers. Even small pets enjoy exploring new toys—keep it fun and safe!
05
Stay alert to their health
Keep an eye out for signs that something's wrong—like sudden changes in eating habits, low energy, or unusual behavior. If something feels off, trust your gut and visit the vet. Early action can make all the difference.

She Rescues was founded on a promise to help better the lives of animals in Mauritius through education of the importance of correct treatment of animals.
A small part of what we do is rescue and rehome but this is secondary to our main objective which is to sterilise as many animals across the island as possible and support other rescuers with the funding to sterilise strays or pets in low income communities.
Our socks with a paw-pose funds go directly to Community Sterilisation Campaign- an NGO focussed on mass sterilisation campaigns who have made a huge impact on the stray crisis in Mauritius, during 2024 CSC sterilised 1300 strays and pets from low income communities.

Survivors
Some of our saves!

This little guy was left in a bag on a doorstep because of his TREATABLE skin condition. The worst part is he seemed to be a “breed dog” (likely Staffie) so some heartless breeder decided he wasn’t profitable and too damaged to sell so they discarded him like trash !
He is now rehabbed in a new family and now living his best life!

Stevie was picked up off the streets by a beautiful Animal warrior friend. He is completely blind and the streets are not a place for a blind kitten.
He is still waiting to be adopted.
Whoever will get the chance to adopt this cutie is a very lucky person!

This is Hope - a Labrador/Border Collie mix who was very recently saved from a puppy mill.
Now, she’s sterilised, and looking for a new, safe home - where she will be a pet and NOT a source of income. She’s very calm, affectionate, and friendly with other dogs.
She’s in Pointe aux Canonniers.
